First big snow!

Today we had our first SNOOOOW (with big letters...). Big snow, beautiful snow, wonderful snow, amazing snow!

Hoje tivemos a primeira NEEEVE  por aqui (neve mesmo!), bastante neve, linda, maravilhosa!

Yes, I know it is just the first one and maybe we will change our minds at the end of the winter…BUT, anyway, for today, we are having fun and enjoying all this white!

Eu sei, eu sei, que no final do inverno podemos até mudar de idéia e não achar a neve tão linda e maravilhosa assim...MAS, por enquanto estamos curtindo tudo o que essa beleza da natureza traz: a beleza e as brincadeiras....ah, que delícia!

This is what Alice and I saw through our windows in the morning.

Esta é a imagem que tivemos hoje pela manhã.

Quico, who left VERY early, said that the Confederation Park was more beautiful than ever! The bridges were covered with snow and there was any footprint in the snow at that time. He said it seemed as a postal card. A beautiful one!

O Quico que saiu de casa BEM cedo e aproveitou a beleza ainda virgem (sem pegadas, sem sal e sujeira) disse que o Confederation Park estava lindo. Que parecia um cartão postal com suas pontes cobertas de neve.

After I dropped Alice off at the school I shoveled our corner sidewalk. It wasn’t a good think to do, but, at least, I did some exercise.
Depois que deixei a Alice na escola fui fazer o trabalho sujo da neve: retirar a neve da calçada da nossa casa – que, lembrando a todos, fica numa esquina! Tudo bem, assim nem vou precisar fazer musculação, quando terminei, estava suando!

Later, I went outside with Night to a small walk and, believe or not, she loved it. She played in the snow!
Mais tarde levei a Night para um passeiozinho na neve. Acreditam que ela adorou? Até pediu mais quando a Alice voltou da escola.

During the school lunch recess I went to Alice’s school to take some pictures of her and all the students playing outdoors. Just to let you know, this was the temperature at that hour:

Durante o recreio do almoço eu fui lá na escola da Alice tirar mais umas fotinhos, pois acho o máximo isso das crianças saírem para a rua e brincarem na neve. Só para constar: a temperatura que estava naquela hora!

It was very beautiful: all those colorful coats, scarf and snow hats in the white background. And the most beautiful of all, the children having lots of fun!

Eu acho lindo todas aquelas cores dos casacos, mantas e gorros contrastando com o fundo branquinho. E o mais legal é ver as crianças se divertindo!

Just wondering… Why everyone greeted me today?
 “Welcome to Canada!”, “Welcome to Calgary!”, “Welcome to the north (very north, I suppose) hemisphere!” 

Só não entendi por que hoje ouvi essas perguntas hoje….

Is there any not white reason for it?

Tem alguma razão especial para isso?
