Once again in Washington D.C.- White House

Some weeks ago we visited Washington DC and, for the first time, saw the White House from the front of it. Here are some pictures of Barak Obama’s family house!

We also visited the American Craft Museum where Alice made a craft decoration.

Here is the final result of her decoration. A few moments before we hung it in the wall.

Surprise Party!

Yes....I had a surprise party last Friday! – and it was really a surprise for me.
Quico had planned and organized it all and Alice kept it secret. Can you guys believe that?

O Quico planejou e organizou tudo e a Alice guardou segredo. Dá para acreditar?

Monday, Quico, Alice and I had dinner at a Steak House to celebrate my 35th birthday. It was a very family function and I enjoyed it a lot. Here are some pictures from us that evening.

During the week Quico called some of our friends and invited them to come here and celebrate my birthday with us in our apartment. It was wonderful!

And, of course, happy birthday in many languages! In case you want to hear here are them.

I loved all the presents: flowers, chocolates, album, cakes, hydrating, book, make up…but most of all, the company of our friends and the surprise!
Thanks!

Chesapeake Bay

We know you all were getting bored because no had more trips in our blog. Since we went to Nashville (by the way, a long trip!) we only stayed around here. But, last last weekend we visited the Chesapeake Bay. We drove 69 miles (111 Km) from Manassas to Annapolis, capital of Maryland State, where we had slept for one night.

The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States and it is surrounded by the States of Virginia and Maryland. All rivers (more than 150) that drain the bay meet the Atlantic Ocean water close to Virginia Beach.

Annapolis was founded in 1649 and still has some old buildings and some narrow streets to embellish it. For us the beauty of this city is the harbor and waterfront. From there it is possible to see the beauty of Chesapeake Bay.

We got around Annapolis on Saturday and on Sunday we visited the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in city of St. Michael’s. To get there we had to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge which is a very big and beautiful bridge.

Here are some pictures in the Museum. It has many buildings and lots of items related to commerce and trade, navigation and fisheries.

Here is the Lighthouse.

Inside the lighthouse.

The light.

At the top of the lighthouse and the beautiful view.

More pictures in the museum.

Have a look here. Can you see the frozen water? Cool!

Here are some pictures of St. Michel’s: a lovely city!
