Festa Junina

Aqui no Brasil se costuma fazer uma festa em junho, a qual chamamos de festa junina. A festa varia um pouco de região para região e aqui no sul, muitas vezes as gurias (meninas) costumam usar roupa de prenda e os guris (meninos) de gaúchos.

Brazilians traditionally celebrate what we call festa junina. This festival varies from region to region and here in the South the gurias (girls) wear prenda gowns and the guris (boys) wear gaucho`s outfits.

Neste ano, na escola da Alice, a preferência foi por roupa de caipira. A roupa de caipira usualmente é uma roupa bem simples, feita de restos e bem colorida.

In Alice`s school the preference this year was for the caipira outfit, which is very simple, usually made of scraps of old clothes.

A Alice improvisou a dela no melhor estilo caipira: passou uma tarde com a dinda costurando as mangas da camiseta e decidindo como fazer a saia que usaria em baixo de uma que já tinha.... Também teve a idéia de costurar umas flores que a Ymara tinha feito de crochê para ela. Aplicamos na camiseta e na saia e ainda usamos um par delas para prender o cabelo.

Alice improvised hers in the best caipira fashion. She spent an afternoon with her godmother sewing sleeves and deciding how to make a dress to be used underneath another one she already had. She also sewed flowers her aunt Ymara had knitted for her. A couple of those flowers were sewed to her short, dress and whe had some on her flower.

The final dress-up was finalised at Laura`s house, where some pictures were shot. She was overcute, wasn`t she?
