From Boston we went to Maine. As you head north you can see many differences in the landscape (more rivers and hills), the weather (colder), the arrangement of the cities (cozier), etc. In the highways you can see some signals with the distances in miles AND in kilometers. In the tolls there are advisors saying that Canadian money is accepted and we can frequently see the Canadian flag.
De Boston nós fomos para o estado do Maine. À medida que nos aproximamos do norte percebemos algumas diferenças na paisagem que vai ficando mais recortada com muitos rios e algumas montanhas, com cidades mais aconchegantes. A temperatura também vai caindo e as placas de trânsito começam a mostrar distâncias em quilômetros também! 
Soon after we arrived in Maine we figured out that we should had brought some warmer clothes and we had to stop in a store to buy a sweater for Quico and pants for Alice.Logo que chegamos ao Maine percebemos que só tínhamos roupas de verão. Tivemos então que parar e comprar um moletom para o Quico e uma calça para a Alice. Here is Alice watching a film in her new portable DVD player! Very useful in this long trip. Hehehe…Aqui está a Alice assistindo um filme no DVD portátil! Muito útil essa longa viagem! Hehehe... 
Some little stops to stretch our legs and check the Lighthouse Museum.Paradas para esticar as pernas e dar uma espiada no Museu dos Faróis. Our idea was to visit the Acadia National Park. The park is in an island with some small towns. Here we are in our first night: very foggy!
Nossa idéia era visitar o Parque Nacional Acádia que fica numa ilha com várias cidadezinhas ao redor. Aqui estamos nós numa cerração danada!
In the morning we took a boat to see the island and part of the park reserve from the sea. It was still very foggy and cold too. In the boat we received some blankets to wrap.
Pela manhã fomos fazer um passeio de barco e a cerração ainda estava forte. Também estava tão frio que tivemos que usar cobertores para nos esquentar durante o passeio.
Can you see the seals?
Unfortunately we couldn’t see much because of the fog but was wonderful anyway! We could see some seals, some bird’s nests and the beautiful cliffs.
Infelizmente não deu para ver muita coisa por causa da neblina, mas de qualquer forma estava ótimo! Conseguimos ver algumas focas, ninhos de grandes pássaros e lindos penhascos na beira do mar.
The next day we stayed in a very cozy cottage. Here are some pictures of it and a picture of the view we had from inside!
No dia seguinte ficamos numa cabana próxima ao mar. Aqui tem fotos da caana e da vista de dentro dela.

We also climbed (by car!) the Cadillac Mountain to have a look of the park from the high. It was again very foggy and we couldn’t see far away, but was pretty beautiful anyway!
Nós também subimos de carro a montanha Cadillac para apreciar a vista do alto. Também estava bem nublado e não deu para ver muito longe. De qualquer forma estava lindo!
On the top there were a wedding ceremony and we took a picture of that. Interesting, isn’t it?Vejam só o que vimos por lá: um casamento! Hehehe...
We tried to do the entire trip back in once drive so we left early in the morning. After 12 hours driving and yet 3 hours far from home, we gave up and decided to sleep in a hotel.
Tentamos voltar de uma sentada só mas, depois de 12 horas de viagem e ainda 3 longe de casa, desistimos e dormimos num hotel no caminho.
The next day we started to say some goodbyes and pack our things to go back to Brazil.
No dia seguinte começamos as nossas despedidas, vender nossos poucos móveis e a arrumar as malas para voltar ao Brasil.
