Esquilos//Squirrels

Nós já tínhamos observado que os esquilos de Washington são menos medrosos que os daqui. Domingo quando estivemos por lá encontramos um no caminho.
We had already noticed that in Washington DC the squirrels were less timid than the ones we find around here. On Sunday, when we went to Washington, we met one in our way to the metro station and then we tried to feed it.

Compramos bolachinhas para ele e tentamos alimentá-lo. Primeiro a Alice esticou o braço e ofereceu a bolachinha para ele. E o esquilo deu uma mordidinha no dedo dela. Depois disso o Quico tentou alimentá-lo. Quando o esquilo viu o Quico, ficou em pé e tentou pegar a bolacha. Só que, não só pegou a bolacha, como arranhou o dedo dele e ainda deu uma mordida! E sangrou muito!
Quico bought some crackers and offered to the squirrel. Alice tried to feed him and when she stretched he arms the squirrel bit her finger. Quico, then, tried to feed him too. When the squirrel saw him he stood up and tried to take the cracker. But, he not only took the cracker, he also scratched Quico’s fingers and bit his hand. His finger bled a lot!

Como vocês podem ver os esquilos de Washington não são apenas menos tímidos, mas também mais perigosos!
As you can see…Washington squirrels are not only less timid, but also more dangerous!
